Frequently asked questions

What is the eligibility criteria to apply to the YAIR program?
  • Students should be rising sophomores, rising juniors or rising high school seniors
  • Student commits to attend all online zoom classes. 
What is the selection process?
  • Unweighted GPA > 3.8
  • Prior programming experience in Python.
  • Aspire to pursue a STEM major
  • Resume
  • SAT Score if available
How is the program organized?
  • Enrollment will be capped at a maximum of 30 students on a first come first serve basis.
  • Students learn to harness Python's powerful machine learning libraries, apply rigorous research methods, and utilize statistical tools, culminating in the ability to craft compelling research papers that meet publication standards.
  • Students will be grouped into 3 member teams in which they select one of the 12 areas of research.
What is the refund policy?
Cancellation requests must be submitted at least 15 days before the program start date. If cancellation is requested within this timeframe, a refund will be issued with a 10% administrative fee withheld. No refunds will be provided for cancellation requests made less than 15 days before the program start date or after the program has begun.
Do you guarantee paper publication?
While we do not guarantee paper publication, we definitely equip student researchers with everything needed to publish. If the paper is accepted by a journal, the publication process can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months, depending on the students' effort and the journal's review timeline.
